TITLE: EVALUATING BUILT-UP AREA EXPANSION IN YAMUNANAGAR CITY OVER THREE DECADES (1991–2021)

ABSTRACT: The definition of urbanization refers to the resources affected by urban expansion, which is a global phenomenon, mainly due to population growth and increased human migration. The current research project discusses the expansion of the area in Yamuna Nagar between 1991-2021, collecting information on the development of the city’s residential area and its changes over time. The results are obtained using remote sensing satellite images collected by Google Earth Explorer for statistical analysis. Yamuna Nagar is one of the fastest growing cities in India; The total residential area is only 16 square kilometers. In 1991, the construction area reached 73 square kilometers. 2021. The survey can be used to estimate the expansion of the construction area. This will be useful for urban planning organizations in developing countries where information is not always available.
