TITLE : CLOUD COMPUTING TECHNOLOGY AND ITS APPLICATION IN LIBRARIES

ABSTRACT: Cloud computing is computing paradigm where a large pool of systems are connected in private or public networks to provide dynamically scalable infrastructure for application, data and file storage. The advent of this technology has reduced significantly the cost of computation, application hosting and content storage. Cloud computing provides a fascinating possibility for libraries that helps to increase data storage capacity, reliability, performance, and reduce technology cost. It is useful for libraries to provide services to its users at different remote locations at a low cost. The aim of this paper is to create awareness among library and information science professionals about application of cloud computing in the libraries and information centers in providing services and their management.
