ABSTRACT: The partnership between India and the United States in developing smart cities is a groundbreaking collaboration aimed at addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization through advanced technologies and sustainable urban planning. This research paper explores the strategic framework of the U.S.-India Smart Cities Partnership, focusing on its impact on urban infrastructure, governance, and citizen services in India. The study highlights key areas of collaboration, such as the deployment of technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics to improve traffic management, waste disposal, and energy efficiency. Additionally, the paper examines how U.S. investments and expertise accelerate India’s Smart Cities Mission and create opportunities for American businesses to access one of the largest emerging markets. Challenges such as resource constraints, policy misalignments, and the digital divide are also analyzed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the partnership’s effectiveness.
