The story “Colours of the Rainbow” by Chanchal Sharma presents the alienation and rootlessness of the protagonist in the contemporary world. The present paper taking into consideration the story of Chanchal Sharma analysing​​ the ​​self-realization​​ and​ ​also ​​identifying​ ​ones ​​true​self.
